OPTICAL ASSISANT – SUMMER CASUAL POSISTION

ABOUT RIVERSDALE OPTICAL:

Riversdale Optical has been operating for 30 years in the heart of Camberwell. The practice has built its reputation upon honest and quality service delivering across all aspects of eye care, including comprehensive eye testing, contact lenses, frame selection & most importantly, the best lens application to maximise visual performance. The practice has on-site fitting equipment which enables unique service to our patients and produces more efficient results to get new specs delivered to their rightful owner.

Practice is easily accessible by transport with Camberwell station only a 10 minute walk away, while multiple trams run through the Camberwell Junction. The practice also includes on-site free parking which is helpful to those who wish to drive to work.

THIS POSITION:

The core of this role is our interaction with our customers and patients; we like to ensure that every visit produces some laughter along with some great fashion advice when patients are selecting new eyewear. You will always be supported by a fully qualified and experienced Optical Dispenser at all times, allowing you to make confident & informed decisions about your patients' eyewear.

Other daily tasks include but are not limited to;

Answering phone calls & making appointments.

Setting up and packing away products at days end.

Store visual merchandising.

Frame selections for store (if interested).

Placing orders for specs and contact lenses.

General admin, maintenance/ cleanliness of store.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE (NON-ESSENTIAL):

· Previous work within a retail environment or; customer interactions.

· Working within a fashion setting (frame selection is a key aspect of this role).

· Optical experience is a bonus (On-site job training provided regarding lens selection).

WHAT WE OFFER:

Between 20-30 hours projected per week.

Working hours between 10:00am - 5:00pm weekdays & 10:00am – 4:00pm on Saturdays.

This casual position requires availability for 3-4 days per week.
