Join the team at Maleny Manor delivering exceptional dining experience to our weddings and events, on a short term contract October – December 2025.

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced functions chef for an immediate start to join our team for a short term contract to assist during our busy wedding season. 38-40 hours per week, on a fixed term contract, with options of a full time position into 2026 if interested and suitable. The Functions Chef role is to support the Head Chef and other kitchen team to deliver an unforgettable dining experience, with 4-5 weddings per week. This hands on role will assist with the prep and plate up for each wedding.

Maleny Manor is one of Australia's most renowned wedding and events venues, hosting 150+ events a year. Being in the industry for over 30 years, Maleny Manor offers personalised service with our own trained, professional team. Located in Maleny within the Sunshine Coast hinterland, the venue is open 7 days of the week for weddings and private events with onsite accommodation on a 30 acre property.

Key responsibilities include:

Work within a small team, and ability to work unsupervised

Deliver delicious, flavourful and quality menus for all our weddings and events with canapés, sit down alternate drop menus, shared style dining; as well as catering for dietary requirements

Deliver and plate food service within the event timings for weddings from 20-120 people

Ability to follow direction

Ability to look after a section, with an emphasis on quality and price in your work

Requirements:

Driver's license and own reliable transport required

5 Day week roster that is flexible across the 7 days in line with when the weddings and events occur

Usually working times is either day shift for prep, or an event day roster is between12pm - 9pm.

What we offer:

Hourly rate $45 p/h, plus higher rate on weekends in accordance with Award rates

Fixed term contract required for immediate start, concluding 15th December
