Join Our Team as a Legal Officer – Racing, Regulatory & Administrative Law

Are you a skilled legal professional with a passion for regulatory and administrative law? Do you want to make an impact in the dynamic world of greyhound racing? We’re looking for a dedicated Legal Officer to provide expert legal advice and support across a range of legislative and regulatory issues related to the racing industry.

About the Role:
As a Legal Officer, you will play a key role in delivering legal services to the Commission, focusing on regulatory and disciplinary functions. You will draft and review important documents, provide clear legal analysis, and represent the Commission at the Racing Appeals Tribunal when required. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment where your expertise will directly influence regulatory outcomes.

About You:

You’re a qualified legal practitioner admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW and hold, or are eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. You work well both independently and collaboratively, and you’re comfortable providing legal advice under supervision.

Your strong communication skills allow you to explain complex legal issues clearly and simply to a variety of audiences. You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency in your work.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for ongoing employment at GWIC, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
GWIC does not provide relocation expenses, nor can we support employer-sponsored work visas unless specifically referenced in the advertisement.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo background checks and provide confirmation of tertiary academic qualifications before commencement.
