Our client is a large privately owned Australian Freight Transport Company founded in 2008 which specialises in road transport services, wharf cartage and container handling, as well as warehousing and distribution.

Due to rapid expansion and increased work volumes, they are seeking experienced Forklift Operators/Labourer for their Tottenham Depot (Somerville Road) working Day shift from 6:00am Monday–Friday with regular overtime.

About the Role

The primary objective of the role is to safely load and unload steel & timber out of containers and on to trucks for metropolitan deliveries, you will also be stripping and de-choking the containers throughout your working day. Expect that some days will be spent predominantly on the forklift and the next could be mainly labouring or working in other areas of the depot.

Forklifts range from 2.5 tonne to 16 tonne and a lot of the work is completed out in the open or under the awnings.

We are also seeking a LO High Reach forklift operator.

You will have the ability and mindset of “safety first “whilst completing your movements productively and efficiently.

You will be working in a very professional environment with a great team. We need you to work well within the team, have an excellent work ethic and attitude and be able to work regular overtime when required.

Core responsibilities.

Safe loading and unloading of steel and timber products with a 16-tonne forklift.

Safe loading and unloading of containers with 2.5 tonne forklift.

Manual unloading and loading containers and yard duties when required.

Perform routine pre- start inspections on Forklift and equipment.

Demonstrating a high level of safety and process compliance at all times

Recommend any process or system improvements.

Skills and experience

Must have experience with forklifts up to 16 tonnes.

Experience with loading and unloading steel and timber products.

LF forklift operation with proven operational experience with forklifts

We are also seeking a LO High Reach forklift operator.

Physically fit, willing and able to do regular labouring when required.

Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.

Work autonomously with ease and thrive in pressure situations.
