Project Engineer (Civil Engineer)

$75,000 - $95,000 per annum

Melbourne's leading structural Steel Fabricator has a challenging opportunity available for an experienced Project Engineer to be part of their Projects team.

As a project engineer, you will take ownership of Stilcon’s Civil and fabrication projects, ensuring successful delivery of each project by coordinating key activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

· Plan and interpret construction methods, materials, and quality standards, using drawings, specifications, and procedures to guide project execution.

· Oversee on-site operations by coordinating labour, materials, and equipment, and ensuring activities follow a detailed schedule.

· Review and interpret architectural and engineering documentation to estimate costs and assist with project budgeting and planning.

· Track design changes and assess their impact on costs, negotiating any variations where needed.

· Oversee outsourced production, ensuring suppliers meet agreed timelines and quality.

· Ensure the work is carried out to the required standard.

· Maintain accurate updates in StruMIS, tracking progress and delivery status of all outsourced items.

Skills and Experience

A successful candidate must have at least a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction management, and at least one year work experience in construction project management in a medium or large construction business.
