The Opportunity

Darling Downs Metals' is seeking a proactive and experienced HR Truck Driver to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a range of heavy vehicles to transport goods and materials from our customers to our depot.

The hours are 7am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a range of heavy vehicles including semi-trailers, hook truck and tipper trucks in a safe and compliant manner

Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain detailed vehicle logs and records

Load and unload vehicles, ensuring the product is secured properly

Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers and other drivers to coordinate deliveries

Adhere to all relevant road transport regulations and Darling Downs Metals' safety policies

Provide excellent customer service and liaise with clients to resolve any delivery issues

What We're Looking For

Valid HR driver's licence with a proven track record of safe heavy vehicle operation

Previous Hi-AB crane or ship truck experience favourable

Excellent knowledge of road rules, load restraint and fatigue management practices

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to manage unexpected situations

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet tight deadlines

Good communication and customer service skills

Commitment to workplace health and safety

Be able to pass a medical and undertake a police check

Forklift Licence favourable
