ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to perform general maintenance and repairs, midlife overhauls, PCRs, breakdowns, diagnostics and component-level repairs as required predominantly on CAT and HITACHI equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for ensuring that the equipment we help maintain operates at peak performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Diagnose and repair mobile plant equipment and other equipment as required

Perform routine maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns

Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment components

Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess and repair equipment efficiently

Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work

Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and guidelines

Collaborate with team members to complete complex repairs

Communicate works with client and GenPower Supervisor daily / weekly

REQUIREMENTS:

Australian recognised trade completion certificate as Diesel Mechanic

CAT and / or HITACHI large surface equipment experience

National Police Clearance

Practical experience working within a heavy-duty environment

Good communication skills

Self-motivated, with the ability to work as part of a team

Current drivers’ licence (minimum)
