Townsville Auto Group is a family-owned and operated multi-franchise car dealership based in the vibrant city of Townsville. Representing five new vehicle franchises, including Volvo, Jeep, Ram, Honda, Isuzu Ute, GWM HAVAL, and a wide selection of Used Cars, we're growing and looking for a dedicated candidate to join our team!
As a Vehicle Detailer, your primary responsibility is to clean, restore, and maintain the exterior and interior of vehicles to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards. You will be responsible for cleaning, polishing, and detailing vehicles to enhance their appearance and functionality, contributing to customer satisfaction and the overall reputation of the company.
At times you will also be required to assist with booking vehicles in when delivery by the manufacturer and by the PD Centre staff with handover check list for signing. Once a car has been delivered by the PD centre with a defect/paint issue that can be rectified in-house you will be the person called upon to fix the problem.
You are responsible for preparing all the New, JEEP, RAM, LEAP and Used Car deliveries for the customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Exterior Detailing:
Wash and dry vehicle exteriors using appropriate techniques and tools.
Apply wax and polish to maintain a vehicle’s shine and protect the paint.
Clean windows, mirrors, and wheels, ensuring a spotless finish.
Perform paint correction, remove stains, and ensure surfaces are smooth.
Interior Detailing:
Vacuum and clean all interior areas, including carpets, seats, and upholstery.
Clean and treat leather or fabric surfaces with appropriate products.
Sanitize and deodorize vehicle interiors, including dashboards, door panels, and console areas.
Clean windows and mirrors inside the vehicle for clarity.
Engine Bay Cleaning: (Optional, depending on the employer)
Clean engine bays, remove dirt, grease, and debris while ensuring no damage to sensitive parts.
Product Application:
Apply tire protectants, cleaners, and other finishes to maintain vehicle parts.
Use specialized products for cleaning chrome, glass, and vinyl surfaces.
Inspection and Quality Assurance:
Inspect completed work for quality and ensure vehicles meet company standards.
Report any defects or damage to the vehicle to the supervisor or management
Maintain Tools and Equipment:
Clean and maintain detailing tools and equipment.
Ensure proper use of all materials and products in accordance with safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry items no more than 10kg
Comfortable working in different physical conditions, including standing for long periods, bending, and reaching.
Work Environment:
This position typically requires you to work with other staff.
You are required assist and support other detailers/yardies when they require help
Safety equipment and proper handling of chemicals will be required.
A daily running sheet will be given to you to work with each morning, if there is no work listed you are required to see your manager Allen Hirmiz for directions.
