About the role
Reporting to the Enterprise Fellow, you will contribute to the research efforts of STEM through a strategic SmartSat CRC–funded project on SpaceCraft Autonomy & Onboard AI for Next Generation Space Systems, in collaboration with leading research and industry partners. You will focus on researching distributed AI/ML technology solutions, particularly in the areas of dynamic optimisation of constellation resources and real-time tasking and resource allocation.

To be successful you will need
- PhD in a relevant discipline with postdoctoral research experience in at least one research strand
- Track record of high-quality publications, independent research and growing citation impact
- Experience in research supervision, leadership and engagement with industry or community partners
- Strong organisational skills to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with colleagues, teams and external stakeholders
