About the Opportunity

Programmed is currently seeking a qualified and experienced in Heavy Vehicle/Plant Mechanic for a short-term casual assignment based in St George, Queensland. This is a Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) role ideal for candidates looking for a remote work opportunity with accommodation provided for the duration of the assignment.

You'll support our clients Infrastructure Services team by assisting with the day-to-day operation of Council's workshop, ensuring fleet, heavy plant, and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Council's heavy plant, equipment and light vehicles

Carry out preventative maintenance and workshop tasks

Work within safety and operational guidelines

Report faults, safety hazards and equipment damage

Assist with manual handling and workshop duties as needed

Perform duties safely, professionally, and efficiently

Essential Criteria

Trade Certificate in Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Plant Mechanics

Current C Class Driver's Licence (MR preferred)

White Card - General Safety Induction

Demonstrated mechanical experience in a similar role

Fit for physical work and outdoor conditions

Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills

Ability to get to site and work full duration of period

Ability to pass pre employment medical police check including drug and alcohol if needed.
