Petrob Contracting is a family run asphalt cartage business based in Chevallum on the Sunshine Coast. We are currently looking for local truck drivers with a HR licence or higher. We are always aiming to provide a safe, team oriented and positive workplace.

Petrob Contracting has been in the asphalt industry on the sunshine coast for over 20 years. We have a diverse fleet consisting of tippers, live bottom floor and Ejector style trucks. We have a large range of customers and work on private driveway projects, council overlay programs, highway refurbishments and highway or new road construction projects. Our work is predominantly on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas.

About the job

We are seeking new team members for an immediate start to join our company as an Asphalt Truck Driver averaging 30-40 hours per week.

The work will consist of predominantly night shift up to Christmas. Employees are paid at above the specified award minimum.

We expect that you will be able and willing to:

Work night shift.

Complete safety inductions for varying contractors.

Drive varying size rigid trucks with both tipping and non-tipping bodies.

Pick up asphalt from asphalt plants and deliver to job sites.

Work and tip into asphalt pavers.

Collect profiling’s from profiling machines and deliver to dump or recycling areas.

Pick up aggregates or other raw materials from various quarries and deliver to job sites.

Conduct daily truck pre-start inspections and report any damages or defective items.

Maintain a clean and presentable truck both on the interior and exterior.

About you

Previous asphalt driving experience is desirable but not mandatory. We will provide on the job training to successful applicants. This will be tailored to each individual person based on prior experience and witnessed competency.

You will need to have the following:

Valid HR licence or higher.

General Construction Induction Card (mandatory).

Neat and professional appearance and a clean driving record.

Random drug and alcohol testing is a requirement to succeed in this position and industry; these may be requested by either us or our clients.
