Eastern Suburbs Private Hospital is a 38-bed rehabilitation hospital with accompanying Outpatient department. Our hospital delivers a range of inpatient and day program services. The standard caseload will be made up of Orthopaedic, Cardiac, Pulmonary, Neuro, Oncology and General Reconditioning patients.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologist to join our busy, expanding Outpatient department. This position will focus on providing assessment and treatments in a Day Only Rehabilitation program. You will work in a Multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Exercise Physiologists, Dieticians, Speech Pathologists as well as with Medical and Nursing staff. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience in a clinical rehabilitation setting. Shifts will be 5 - 7.5 hours Monday to Friday, potentially 25 - 35 hours per week pending the case load.

Your duties will include the following:

Provision of high quality, evidence-based Exercise Physiology services in both hydrotherapy and gym-based rehabilitation

Completing initial assessments, providing exercise and rehabilitation prescription for the outpatient population

Running condition specific groups such as cardiac, oncology and pulmonary rehab

Liaising with referring Doctors and Specialists regarding patient treatment and progression

Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Allied Health department at Eastern Suburbs Private Hospital

Ensuring the reputation of excellence is maintained to the highest standard

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Experienced ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Clinical skills across a range of neurological, geriatric and orthopaedic/MSK rehabilitation

Demonstrated excellent time management and self-organisational skills

Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills

Demonstration of effective multidisciplinary teamwork

Current National Police Check / Working with Children Check

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

1+ years’ experience working in an Outpatient or clinical rehabilitation setting

Experience delivering cardiac, pulmonary, oncology exercise programs

Hydrotherapy experience

Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
