Salary: $255-275k Pro Rata + 12.5% super + CPD + salary packaging

We are seeking experienced and motivated GPs with a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or equivalent, and a minimum of five years of primary health care experience with demonstrable leadership capabilities. A deep understanding of and commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, coupled with exceptional cultural competence, is essential.

About the Principal GP Role:
This is a senior clinical leadership position responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed clinical services, patient care, and education within their designated clinic. The role extends beyond direct patient care to encompass strategic leadership, team mentorship, and the proactive management of clinical risks and quality improvement initiatives. You will champion the FPHW model of culturally safe practice, ensuring all services are delivered with deep respect and understanding of the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Key aspects of the role include:
• Leading Culturally Safe Practice: Embedding the FPHW model of trauma-informed, culturally safe practice.
• Strategic Clinical Planning: Developing and implementing clinic-specific work plans aligned with FPHW's strategic objectives.
• Clinical Governance: Upholding the highest standards of clinical governance and compliance.
• Operational Oversight: Providing clinical support to the GP team and working closely with their counterpart at the other clinic.
• Risk Management & Quality Improvement: Proactively identifying and mitigating clinical risks, and leading quality improvement initiatives.
• Team Mentorship: Providing clinical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the GP team and wider clinical staff.
• Patient Care: Delivering comprehensive, trauma-informed medical care and building therapeutic relationships.
• Liaison & Advocacy: Collaborating with site managers to foster strong external relationships and advocate for patient access to services.

Clinical Load: Approximately 80% of the role, with 20% dedicated administrative time for governance and meetings.
