Brisbane City Council is looking for reliable and hard-working individuals to join our Kerb and Channel Crew. This team is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing kerbside infrastructure.

Start Time: 7am - 3:57pm
Start location: Straight to site (Travel allowance included)
9 Day Fortnights (every second Friday off)

About your new role

You will assist with the maintenance and construction of council owned property. You will be someone who adheres to strict WHS practices. Some of your duties may include:

• Kerb removal and replacement - Including setting/boxing out and concrete pouring.
• Drainage works - Supporting tasks related to sub-soil drainage and gully pits.
• Kerb setup - Installing safety barricades (star pickets, witches hats, road dogs), trench marking, and sediment control setup.
• Concrete pouring - Operating the slip-form kerb machine, hand-shoveling concrete, and equipment cleaning.
• Kerb finishing - Hand screeding, shaping, and smoothing using trowels and screeds.
• Driveway works - Boxing out and concreting affected driveways.
• Back filling and asphalting - Filling and turfing around completed kerbs.
• Gully reconstruction - Assisting with setting base/lintel, concrete pouring, and installing frames and gates.

What you will need to exceed

It is essential that you have the following:

• Concreting Experience (essential)
• Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
• Open C Class drivers licence and reliable transport (essential)

Desirable

• MR Licence
• High Risk Dogman ticket
