About the role
Eureka Centre encourages young people to engage with Australia's democratic history through its Eureka Education programs. We offer a range of onsite and incursion programs that provide teachers and students with tools and experiences that explore the social history and cultural impact of the Victorian goldrush, the stories of the men and women who risked their lives in the fight for miners' rights and the democratic reforms that followed.
Eureka Centre is seeking qualified teachers to join its dynamic Education team as Sessional Educators.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work collaboratively in an agile team to deliver engaging learning experiences to diverse audiences, especially incoming schools.
About you
You will use innovative teaching strategies, including our custom designed app, to deliver programs aligned with the Victorian and Australian Curriculum. You will teach student groups across a range of subjects, year levels and abilities (primarily primary and secondary with some early childhood, special needs groups, EAL) as well as casual visitors and adults in a variety of learning contexts.
To be successful in this role you will be a team player with an engaging teaching style and the ability to quickly establish rapport with a group of students.
Key Selection Criteria:
Qualifications and experience as listed above.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences andestablish rapport with individuals and groups across a range of settings.
Proven capacity to take initiative, think creatively, and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and educational groups, contributing positively to team goals and organisational outcomes.
Confident in the use of contemporary educational technologies including interactive screens, mobile applications, and multimedia tools to enhance learning experiences.
Strong oral communication skills with the ability to deliver educational content aligned with the Eureka Centre's learning programs and objectives.
Hold Valid Victorian Working with Children's Check or VIT.
