Tweed River Seafood is a retail seafood business that provides fresh and cooked seafood to the public. As an employee of Tweed River Seafood you will be at the forefront of our customer service team. You will be involved in all aspects of our business and be willing to work in a fast paced environment. Full training will be provided to you but you need to have a desire to learn new skills and show that you are capable of providing the service that our customers require. You must be available to work evenings and weekends across a 7 day roster.

Qualifications & experience

Demonstrate the ability to work well with people in a group/team environment, provide excellent customer service and work in a fast paced environment.

Some experience in seafood is an advantage but not required as full training will be provided.

Experience in retail or takeaway sales.

Minimum 6 months retail or takeaway sales experience required.

Be physically able to complete all duties as some heavy lifting is required.

Work safely, adhere to safety standards and follow verbal or written instructions.

Knowledge of safe food handling practices.

Basic math skills.

Australian work rights required for this position.

Tasks & responsibilities

Sale of fresh and cooked seafood using digital scales and electronic cash registers.

Receipt of customer payments either by cash or EFTPOS.

Provide information, advice and assistance to customers.

Stock rotation based on first in first out principles.

Set up, maintain stock levels and pull down of fresh seafood display.

Cleaning and sanitising of all food preparation areas, utensils, and contact surfaces.

Assistance in the preparation, cooking and serving of customer takeaway meals.

Follow food safety, workplace, and personal hygiene policies, practices and procedures.
