The Queensland Revenue Office is seeking applications to fill an AO7 Principal Revenue Advisor role in Brisbane.
In this role, you will support best practice revenue management in QRO by applying solid judgment, analysis, decision making and technical writing skills on a range of novel and complex interpretation and practice issues relating to taxation, royalty, penalty debt, grants and revenue administration, preparing and issuing rulings and providing advice to internal and external clients. With the opportunity to work collaboratively across different divisions in QRO, you will have valuable opportunities for continued learning, growth and career development.
Your typical day as a Principal Revenue Advisor may include:
• issuing rulings on proposed corporate reconstructions and other matters under the Duties Act 2001 that raise complex issues
• providing advice on how legislation administered by QRO applies in novel and complex circumstances
• working with business areas to provide practical solutions for operational issues that may arise
• preparing public rulings and practice directions setting out the Commissioner's interpretation and practice for QRO legislation
• working with less experienced team members in a coaching and mentoring capacity
To be successful in the role, you will need to demonstrate:
• A high level of experience in statutory interpretation
• Analytical skills
• Written and communication skills
• Ability to develop others and build capability
