About us:
Our Gladstone Emergency Department is a 24-hour public department providing initial treatment for all, definitive care for many, and resuscitation and stabilisation of emergencies or unwell patients prior to transfer to tertiary centres or admission to Gladstone Hospital. We provide care across the entire lifespan and with plans to commission a dedicated paediatric zone soon.
Our geographical coverage extends south, from Mt Larcom to Miriam Vale and west, to Calliope; servicing approximately 62,660 residents. We treat approximately 35,000 patients each year with around 25% being paediatric presentations.
About the role:
Becoming a Clinical Nurse in our Gladstone Hospital Emergency Department is an early leadership role that will see you managing the delivery of care to a diverse population. You'll deliver high-quality, safe care in complex settings, guide RNs, ENs, and support staff, and adhere to CQ Health's standards and safety policies, contributing to treatments, stabilizations and admissions.
About you
- Hold current registration as a Registered Nurse through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- You confidently lead and mentor staff, upholding professional nursing practice with integrity.
- You skilfully assess, plan, implement, and evaluate advanced nursing care in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- You excel in interpersonal and communication skills, effectively collaborating, negotiating, and resolving conflicts within a multi-disciplinary team.
- You demonstrate strong clinical problem-solving skills and coordinate person-centred care at an advanced level.
- A post graduate qualification is desirable but not required to be successful. If you don't possess one, there is an expectation to complete one within an agreed timeframe.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $131,900 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
