About the role
Scotch Oakburn College is seeking a highly motivated and versatile Performing Arts Teacher to join our vibrant and dynamic team. This full-time position is based in Launceston, Tasmania, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to make a significant contribution to our students' educational and creative development.
What you'll be doing
Delivering engaging and innovative lessons across a range of Performing Arts disciplines such as drama, music, and dance
Collaborating with colleagues to plan and implement a rich curriculum that supports students' artistic and personal growth
Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression
Providing individualised support and guidance to help students reach their full potential
Organising and leading extracurricular Performing Arts activities, events, and productions
Actively contributing to the broader life of the school community
What we're looking for
Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in the Performing Arts
An outstanding secondary classroom teacher with deep subject knowledge in Music and/or Dance and Drama
Experience directing ensembles or productions
Positive contribution to the College's pastoral care and co-curricular programs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of all ages and backgrounds
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
A collaborative and team-oriented approach, with a willingness to contribute to the broader school community
A genuine commitment to the values and mission of Scotch Oakburn College
Registration with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board, or the ability to attain such registration
