Heavy Diesel Fitter – Mobile Plant

Bis Industries is looking for skilled Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our team at Karara. This role is key to keeping a large fleet of mobile plant running safely and efficiently in one of WA’s leading magnetite mining operations.

About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of heavy mobile equipment. Your work will span both workshop and field service, ensuring safe and reliable equipment availability.
You’ll be responsible for:

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing mobile plant.
• Diagnosing hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic faults.
• Responding to breakdowns and urgent repairs.
• Reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
• Supporting a preventative maintenance system.
• Upholding Bis’ Zero Harm safety culture in everything you do.

What You’ll Need

• Australian-recognised trade qualification – Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Fitting or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 months post-trade experience on CAT or Komatsu mobile plant.
• Mandatory tickets:
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
• Confined Space
• Working at Heights
• White Card
• Current manual C-Class driver’s licence.
• Full Australian work rights.
• Previous mine site experience (mandatory).
• Welding and auto-electrical skills (desirable).
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work in remote conditions
