At Cathartic Consulting, we specialise in helping clients heal from trauma, including complex trauma. We also provide services across the cliinical, forensic, educational and developmental, and health sectors, collaborating with a range of stakeholders in these areas.

Providing evidence-based assessment and therapeutic support across a diverse range of presentations
Delivering EMDR-based, trauma-focused therapy to clients across the lifespan
Working with clinical, forensic, neurodivergent, and educational/developmental clients, providing specialist psychological support
We are a diversified private practice located in Essendon, Victoria, offering services across therapy, assessment, supervision, training, consultancy, and executive coaching. Our practice is newly renovated, designed for comfort and calm, and includes six therapy rooms, a group room, a large co-working space, a fully equipped kitchen, and onsite parking.

What you’ll do
Provide therapeutic support and psychological interventions for clients presenting with:
Anxiety, depressive, bipolar, trauma- and stressor-related disorders
Sleep-wake, substance-related, and addictive disorders
Personality, neurodevelopmental (e.g., ADHD, Autism)
Obsessive-compulsive, dissociative, somatic symptom, and feeding/eating disorders
Challenges with emotional regulation, relationships, interpersonal vulnerabilities, and communication
Conduct comprehensive diagnostic and psychological assessments
Deliver individual and group interventions
Develop treatment plans, reports, and risk assessments for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with other professionals across clinical, forensic, educational, developmental, and health sectors
You will have the opportunity to work with clients across the lifespan, deliver individual and group interventions, contribute to assessments and reports, and participate in organisational consultancy and training projects.
Eligibility
To apply, you must:
Hold general registration as a psychologist with AHPRA.
Have a minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience.
Have completed foundational training in EMDR, with advanced EMDR training preferred and accreditation highly favourable.
Be a permanent resident or Australian citizen.
