About the Organisation
This is a well-established, community-focused group operating multiple venues across Sydney. The organisation is known for its commitment to integrity, safety, and delivering outstanding hospitality experiences. With a strong focus on compliance and governance, the group is investing in its risk and compliance function to ensure it remains at the forefront of regulatory and industry standards.

About the Role
As a Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in safeguarding the organisation’s integrity and reputation. Working closely with the Risk & Compliance Manager, this position focuses on AML/CTF, regulatory compliance, and embedding a proactive compliance culture across operations. It’s a hands-on role that also provides opportunities for professional development and growth into more senior compliance and risk responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out customer due diligence (KYC/CDD), including high-risk patron assessments, PEP screening, and sanctions list monitoring.
  • Monitor gaming and financial transactions, investigate unusual activity, and prepare reports (SMRs/TTRs) for AUSTRAC submission.
  • Maintain accurate AML/CTF records and support delivery of AML/CTF training programs.
  • Assist with compliance across liquor, gaming, and responsible gambling requirements.
  • Support audits, maintain the risk register, and document compliance activities.
  • Contribute to business continuity planning, risk governance, and compliance training across the organisation.

About You

  • 2+ years’ experience in compliance, AML/CTF, or regulatory roles (hospitality, clubs, gaming, or financial services preferred).
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow established frameworks and escalate issues appropriately.
  • High integrity, discretion, and a curious, investigative mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with frontline teams.
  • AML/CTF compliance certification (e.g. CAMS, ICA) highly regarded but not essential.

What’s on Offer

  • Opportunity to build your compliance career in a regulated and dynamic environment.
  • Hands-on experience in AML/CTF, gaming, and regulatory compliance.
  • Pathway to progress into more senior compliance and risk management roles.
  • Supportive, team-oriented culture with professional development opportunities.
