About us
BlendED National is a new and exciting initiative of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA), providing flexible, inclusive education for young people across the country who are unable to access traditional schooling.
Delivered online by a multidisciplinary team, BlendED National supports young people through trauma-informed, relationship-based learning that prioritises safety, connection, and individualised support. The program is designed to meet the needs of young people experiencing complex barriers to education, and is grounded in EREA’s commitment to educational equity and radical inclusion.
Our Young People
Young people come from diverse backgrounds and often face a significant and complex range of educational, social, developmental, environmental, psychological, health, legal barriers to learning which require unique interventions. Our approach is grounded in the Operation By Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices.
We recognise that each young person’s journey is unique. Our staff are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and empowering learning environment where young people can develop confidence, reconnect with education, and work towards their goals.
Our Team
BlendED National is opening its first school in Hobart, Tasmania, with a newly formed team which includes a Principal, Deputy Principal, Program Directors, Instructional Leaders, Teachers and Youth Workers.
The Role
We are looking for Program Director, Wellbeing to join our team. Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the role will has delegated responsibilities in leading engagement and wellbeing practices for the School.
You will be employed on an ongoing basis as School Support Employee (Wellbeing), with a fixed term leadership position for 5 years, commencing Term 1, 2026, and will be employed under the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
Salary is within the School Support Employee (Wellbeing) Level 3 range of $80,772 to $92,859, depending on experience, with a position of leadership allowance of POR3 $10,194 gross per annum
You will need
Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty
Tertiary Qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology and Behavioural Science and/or equivalent experience.
Hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain, and a National Police Check certificate (issued within the last six months), or hold a current Teacher registration in Tasmania.
All applicants must hold a valid Working with Vulnerable People Check, or be eligible to obtain.
3 years experience in a similar role
Well-developed understanding of the developmental needs of young people from a disadvantaged or disengaged perspective.
