Your new company

Our client on the south side of Canberra is seeking a reliable and experienced HC truck driver. This family owned and operated business has been employing subcontractors previously but is now looking to employ 1 person in an ongoing part-time position paid as a casual, to complete their extra HC truck runs.

Your new role

Your new role will be driving the HC crashbox truck to tip off waste materials just outside the ACT. The client is flexible with work days and hours so long as the 8 runs are completed every week, with 3 runs taking a full day, this could be 3x10 hour days of work or split up across the 5 business days to be flexible around your other commitments. In this role you will need to:

• Drive the HC crashbox truck in a safe and professional manner between the site and the tip.
  
• You will need to physically unhitch and re-hitch the truck for each tip off.
  
• You will also need to climb into the back of the truck and sweep out any debris before your next pickup.
  
  
  

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in your application for this role you will need:

• An unrestricted HC or MC truck license and demonstrated HC/MC truck driving experience
  
• Demonstrated crashbox truck driving experience is essential
  
• Availability to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 6am and 5pm to complete the seven runs
  
• An updated resume and a referee from your last role
  
• The ability to commit the part-time hours and complete the manual tasks associated with the role.
  
  
  

What you'll get in return

Our client is looking for someone reliable who is looking for part-time work for the foreseeable future. As you would be employed as a casual, you would be paid an hourly casual rate of $45 an hour with overtime paid as per award. You would have a dedicated Hays consultant to manage the onboard process with you and to manage your casual placement with the client.
