Empower Independence as an Occupational Therapist in the Great Southern
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team and support individuals across the Great Southern region. We work in partnership with government and non-government agencies, and health and service providers to offer services support, advocacy, leadership and coordination in the delivery and promotion of primary health care in the Great Southern, Midwest, South-East Coastal Goldfields, Southwest and Wheatbelt regions.
We provide a range of funded programs, as the needs of our rural and remote communities’ change. Because of this, the scope and number of programs is diverse, continuing to evolve as and when required.
About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist within our Community Allied Health Team, you will provide services to children and adults in the Great Southern Region through government funded programs and fee for service.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and implementing occupational therapy intervention for a selected caseload using a range of service delivery models.
Communicating effectively with clients, family and community participants to ensure optimal outcomes.
Participating in community education and promotion of occupational therapy services.
Liaising with stakeholders, such as state and non-government organisations, plus other allied health professionals for coordinated continuous client care.
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week), with some travel required within the Lower Great Southern region.

Our must haves are:
Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and eligible for registration by the occupational Therapy board of Australia.
Proven ability to appropriately apply evidence-based principles of clinical assessment and intervention knowledge to individual and / or group client management in a primary health care setting.
Sound understanding and knowledge of primary health care in regional Western Australia.
Knowledge and understanding of NDIS & reporting requirements.
Ability to function effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to apply effective time management and organisational skills.
Ability to undertake travel within the region, including remote areas.
Ability to obtain a WWCC, NDIS Clearance and NPC.
Current a valid drivers’ licence.
