Tas Rural Supplies is excited to announce the launch of our brand-new dog grooming salon in Cambridge, alongside our established farm and pet supply store. We are seeking an experienced and/or certified Dog Groomer to join us in a full-time hybrid role, working both in the grooming salon and as a Retail Assistant in the store.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a salon from day one, with the chance to grow the role into a dedicated grooming position as customer demand increases.

Key Responsibilities

Grooming (part-time):

Deliver professional grooming services including bathing, clipping, styling, nail trimming, and coat care

Work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments with patience and care

Maintain salon hygiene, presentation, and equipment upkeep

Build strong relationships with customers and their pets, ensuring a positive experience

Retail (part-time):

Assist customers with farm, equine, pet, and rural supply enquiries

Operate the POS system and process sales

Receive deliveries, restock shelves, and keep the store well-presented

Assist with loading/unloading customer purchases (feed bags up to 20kg)

Support promotions, merchandising, and day-to-day store operations

About You

Experienced and/or certified dog groomer (qualification or proven industry experience)

Confident across grooming techniques and comfortable with a range of breeds, including knowledge of breed-specific clips and styling requirements

Strong customer service and communication skills

Enthusiastic, adaptable, and willing to contribute across both grooming and retail

Physically fit and able to safely lift 20kg feed bags

Forklift licence or rural/farming knowledge an advantage (not essential)

Demonstrated experience safely handling and restraining dogs of various sizes and temperaments

Understanding of basic animal health indicators and ability to identify skin conditions or concerns

Australian work eligibility and willingness to undergo a police background check
