Wildflowers Early Learning Midvale is seeking an experienced and passionate Educational Leader / 2IC to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will mentor and guide educators, support centre operations, and help create inspiring, play-based environments where children and families feel respected, connected, and supported. This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your leadership journey with a values-driven organisation that places children, educators, and community at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

As our Educational Leader / Second-in-Charge, you will:

Lead and mentor our educator team to plan, implement, and reflect upon engaging curricula that allow every child to thrive.

Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development in a respectful way that honours their individual pace and uniqueness.

Establish warm, responsive relationships with children and families, ensuring connection and trust are embedded across all interactions.

Assist the Centre Director in operational duties, including compliance, quality improvement (National Quality Standards), and daily routines.

Create and maintain thoughtful, purpose-built environments that invite imagination, discovery, and joy.

Be a role model in maintaining a culture of respect—for each child, educator, family, and our environment.

You’ll Have

A Diploma, Bachelor, or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or equivalent recognised qualification).

Proven experience in educational leadership (or emerging leadership) in early learning settings.

Strong communication skills and ability to build trust and rapport with children, families, and staff.

A reflective practice mindset—always seeking to learn, adjust, improve.

Commitment to respect, diversity, belonging, and inclusive practice.

Understanding of the National Quality Framework and children’s services regulations in WA.

Valid Working with Children Check, First Aid, CPR and other requisite certifications.

What We Offer

Supportive, collaborative workplace culture with strong emphasis on respectful relationships, connection, and growth.

Opportunities for professional development and mentoring.

Competitive remuneration

A chance to make a real impact—to help lead an environment where children and educators alike can thrive.

Opportunities for growth with a clear leadership pathway.

How to Apply

If you feel inspired by this role and believe you can lead through respect, connection, and helping others thrive, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a cover letter addressing how you reflect our values and how you would help Wildflowers Early Learning continue to flourish to [email protected]

About Us

Wildflowers Early Learning is a place where children thrive. We believe in giving children the space to explore, connect with nature, and express their interests through environments that are flexible, transformable, and responsive to their learning journeys.

At our heart lies our philosophy: we are privileged to be trusted to be part of children’s early years, providing a safe, nurturing, and purposeful environment that enables every child to flourish.

We’re passionate about fostering a love of learning—through curiosity, play, wonder, and exploration. Play is central to everything we do: through it, children build social skills, emotional awareness, communication, cooperation, and problem-solving.

We believe that every child is unique, and that respecting diversity, embracing individuality, and building genuine connections with children, families, educators, and community make all the difference. Our educators build warm, responsive relationships and cultivate environments that honour each child’s pace, culture, and identity.
