The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Demonstrate an expert level of knowledge of contemporary nursing practice, apply theory to practice in delivery of direct and indirect clinical care
• Maintain high level interpersonal and communication skills with members of the health care team, patients/clients/residents and visitors to the service.
• Awareness of and ability to coordinate, formulate apply and direct organisational policies procedures, and guidelines relating to the provision of nursing care
• Actively participate in clinical networks and work collaboratively with health care teams across the care continuum.

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Be credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
• A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time and permanent part time (one full time position and one part time position, 38 hrs p.f.).
• Base salary ranging from $132 562 - $143 924 per annum $82.23 - $89.28 per hour

About Us

Specialist Programs Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (SPAODS) is a Service Line within the Mental Health and Specialist Services (MHSS) Directorate. SPAODS is comprised of 11 different teams, one of these teams is the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry team (CLP). Services provided include triage, assessment and clinical interventions and linkage with support services and other services involved in care provision for this population. This position works closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist and Registrar to provide these services.
