About Us:

Tessellate is a fast growing, specialist disability support provider, with a focus on young people aged 13-30, with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism, FASD, Down Syndrome or other intellectual disabilities.

By focusing our training, experience and understanding towards young people with developmental needs, we are able to provide highly skilled and targeted supports that are life changing and life affirming.

About the Role:

As a Tessellate NDIS Support Worker, you will have a range of responsibilities aimed at not only proving support but enhancing the lives of individuals with neurodiversity.

In this role, you will empower participants to build independence, confidence, and life skills across all areas of their lives. This includes participating in recreational programs, aiding individuals in enhancing their independent living abilities, and supporting case managers in their client advocacy and management responsibilities.

Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring precise and up-to-date documentation of client cases.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need to be confident working with individuals who may present with challenging behaviours, while demonstrating strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. You will be responsible for implementing individual support plans that empower participants to lead meaningful and independent lives.

We’re looking for people who are proactive, engaging, and adaptable in their approach to participant interaction. The role requires the ability to work independently, manage risks appropriately, and report effectively, while also collaborating well within a supportive team environment.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must hold the following or be in a position to obtain the following before beginning employment.

A current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with the additional Child and vulnerable adult-related (NDIS endorsed) activity.

A valid and unrestricted Tasmanian driver’s licence,

The minimum First Aid and CPR qualification, (HLTAID011 and HLTAID009)

Have the legal and unrestricted right to work in Australia.

Completion of the "NDIS Worker Orientation Module" (free online course)

Completion of the "New worker – NDIS induction modules" (free online course)

Minimum Qualifications:

Progression towards or completion of a Certificate 3 or higher in Youth Work, Community Services or Disability Services. This can be started or completed while working for us. Other formal qualifications will also be considered.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with sound punctuation, grammar, and attention to detail when completing documentation and reports.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team—showing initiative, accountability, respect, and a willingness to learn from others.

Confidentiality & Ethics
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy, while demonstrating honesty, integrity, and ethical behaviour in all aspects of the role.

Reliability & Digital Competence
Proven reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic and basic computer skills to complete digital forms, reports, and use relevant systems.

Organisational Alignment
Ability to understand, support, and uphold the Vision, Values, and Mission of Pathways Tasmania while contributing positively to its culture and purpose.
