Occupational Therapist (0.4-0.6)

Suneden is an independent specialist school catering for students with intellectual disabilities aged 5-19.

Suneden is a leader in providing specialist education to students with disabilities. An exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist to join our team of dedicated staff. New graduates are welcome to apply.

This is a fixed term contract for 1 year with opportunity for further employment beyond 2026. Fraction of time to be negotiated with the suitable applicant.

Key Responsibilities

· Facilitating whole class, small group or individual sessions focused on self-regulation, play, fine motor, self-care and daily living skills.

· Providing guidance and support to classroom staff.

· Coordinating specialised equipment needs such as seating and switch access.

· Liaising with families and external therapists.

· Delivering professional development sessions to staff and families.

Essential Skills/Qualifications

· Tertiary Degree in Occupational Therapy.

· Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Agency (APRHA)

· Experience working with students with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism.

· Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff.

· First Aid Certificate.

· Ability to work collaboratively with other staff contributing as a proactive and engaged member of a professional learning community.

· Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

Remuneration

· Remuneration will be determined according to your experience in relation to the Suneden Enterprise Agreement.

Generous salary packaging is available.

This role is 44 weeks school terms + 4 weeks annual leave. Hours of work are 8.30am-4pm
