APAC FM is seeking a proactive Fire Portables Technician to service and maintain extinguishers, blankets, hose reels, and emergency signage across Rockhampton. Join a skilled team, work with top-tier equipment, and grow your career in the fire protection industry!

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Testing - Regularly inspect and test fire extinguishers, blankets, hose reels, and emergency signage.

Maintenance & Servicing - Refill, recharge, or replace equipment; perform hydrostatic testing per AS 1851.

Installation - Install and label new extinguishers and signage per fire safety plans.

Compliance & Documentation - Maintain inspection records and ensure adherence to AS 1851 or relevant codes.

Customer Communication - Advise on compliance, safety upgrades, and provide inspection reports or recommendations.

Tools & Equipment Used

Fire extinguisher testing and recharging equipment

Pressure gauges and scales

Safety tags, stickers, and compliance labels

Personal protective equipment (PPE)

Typical Requirements

Fire Protection Accreditation or certification

White Card (Construction Induction) for site access

Valid driver’s licence and ability to work independently

Familiarity with AS 1851 and relevant WHS regulations
