The role:
We're looking for an Aquaculture Technician to join our team at our Proserpine Prawn Farm, located in the beautiful region between Airlie Beach and Bowen.
Working 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm) on a 2/2/3 roster (two days on, two days off, three days on). You'll play a key role in maintaining animal health and ensuring optimal conditions for prawn growth in our fast-paced aquaculture environment.
Responsibilities:
Conduct daily pond monitoring, checking prawn health, water quality and aeration systems
Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Use digital systems (iPad) to record data and complete tasks
Support the team with general farm operations as required
Role requirements:
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
Strong attention to detail and capable of identifying potential issues early
Reliable and safety-conscious
Basic technology skills - comfortable using iPads
Aquaculture/farming experience (advantageous but not essential)
Ability to work 6am-6pm on a 2/2/3 roster
Team player with positive attitude
Hold a driver’s licence and have reliable transport to site
Full working rights in Australia
