About the role

Join our dedicated team at Value Residential Support Services as a Disability Support Worker. This is a casual position based in Robina, Gold Coast, and surrounding suburbs including Varsity Lakes and Surfers Paradise etc. In this role, you will provide compassionate in-home care and support to individuals living with disabilities, including assistance with daily living and Supported Independent Living (SIL). You will play a vital role in empowering our clients to live independently and participate actively in their communities.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, medication, meal preparation, and light household tasks

Accompanying and supporting clients to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in recreational activities

Monitoring clients' wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns to the care team

Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect

Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized support plans

Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures

What we're looking for

Experience in providing care and support to individuals with disabilities or complex needs.

No minimum years of experience required, however relevant disability support experience is valued.

Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with a diverse client base.

Empathy, patience, and a commitment to improving clients' quality of life.

Positive, solution-focused attitude with flexibility to adapt to changing needs.

Current driver's license and reliable transportation.

Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

NDIS Worker Screening Check, and current First Aid/CPR certificates.

Willingness to travel.
