Hearts and Minds Early Learning is a childcare provider currently operating three Early Learning Centers across WA & ACT

Hearts and Minds Early Learning Golden Bay offers state of the art facilities and resources. We provide warm, inviting indoor spaces and exciting outdoor nature play areas. The service features an outstanding quality kitchen and dining area where families and children can gather and share experiences.

About the role:

We are looking for an engaged, enthusiastic assistant childcare center cook to work alongside our head chef & run the kitchen on the head chefs days off. You would be expected to provide high quality, nutritious & exciting daily nourishment for all the children attending our center.

About You:

Some experience in commercial kitchen environment required.

Full training & induction will be given.

Experience in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations

Have completed, or be willing to complete a WWC Check

Current First Aid Certificate

Good communication skills

Highest personal & professional hygiene standards

Ability to develop warm and respectful relationships with children and families.

Australian work authorisation is required for this position

Benefits and perks

Attractive salary package

Mondays to Fridays - no weekend work & no night work.

4 hours a day minimum shift.

On going first Aid & CPR training

The opportunity to be a part of a supportive and dedicated team

On going training provided, with the expectation of covering the head chef when she has time off.

Skills and experience

A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role

A current Working with Children's Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance and First Aid

Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
