Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Painter to join our team in the trades. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surface preparation, painting, and finishing techniques for both residential and commercial projects. The Painter will be responsible for applying paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring a high level of quality and craftsmanship.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of painting experience.

Australian work authorisation is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and priming.

Mix and match paint colors, and apply various finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

Inspect surfaces to identify imperfections or damage and make necessary repairs.

Follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols at all times.

Work with other tradespeople to ensure proper coordination and timely project completion.

Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order.

Clean up work areas and dispose of materials in compliance with regulations.

Adhere to all safety standards and best practices for working at heights, handling hazardous materials, and ensuring overall site safety.

Collaborate with clients or team leaders to discuss project specifications and expectations.

Qualifications:

Relevant Qualification: Certificate III or above in Painting and Decorating

Proven experience as a Painter in the construction or maintenance field.

Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools.

Ability to mix and apply paints and finishes accurately.

Experience with both interior and exterior painting.

Familiarity with safety standards and protective measures when working with hazardous materials.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.

Valid driver's license (if required for the role).

A full driver's licence is required for this position.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, crouch, or kneel for extended periods.

Capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).

Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms.

Ability to work in various weather conditions (for exterior painting).
