About the role
We are seeking expressions of interest for casual Swim School Instructors to be an integral part our Swim School at Swan Active Beechboro. These casual positions are for teaching in our regular School Age program. Opportunities at Swan Active Midland and Ballajura may also arise.
We are also looking for Infant instructors to join our team with availability to work a Sunday 8:30AM – 12:40PM shift and be part of our relief pool of infant instructors

If you don't have the qualifications to teach swimming, don't worry! Royal Life Saving WA in partnership with Jobs & Skills WA, is currently offering a FREE program for eligible students to obtain the Swimming and Water Safety Teacher Skill Set (terms and conditions apply). With this skill set, you'll have the knowledge and expertise to teach water safety and swimming skills to people of all ages. if you are currently enrolled, we may consider your application as you have the option to complete your practical training and assessment part of the course with us prior to commencing in the role
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;
- Teach swimming as per the centre’s swim school program curriculum
- Develop lesson plans that meet the objectives of the swim school program
- Provide constructive and meaningful feedback to both students and parents on skill progress
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety - Current Austswim, Royal Life Saving WA or SWIM Coaches & Teachers Australia (SCTA) teaching qualification, or proof of enrolment that this is being completed
- Teacher of Infants – teaching extension certificate desirable
- Experience teaching infants and toddlers with the ability to create fun and engaging infant lessons - desirable
- Confident and approachable with parents, excellent communication and people skills
- Current CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate
- Ability to work weekends, mornings and late evenings as required

About working with us
The hourly rate for this position will be from $22.97 (under 17 years old) - $41.77 (inclusive of 25% casual loading) depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
