Production Improvement Coordinator – Metroll Richlands (Brisbane)

Work Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm (Day & Afternoon coverage). Flexibility required across shifts depending on operational needs.

H People is representing a leading Australian manufacturer and supplier of steel building products. At our Richlands branch, we are seeking a motivated Production Improvement Coordinator to join our team. This role is administrative (no physical machine operation) and plays a key part in supporting production and warehousing teams to drive efficiency, quality, and cost savings.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with Production Supervisors and teams, you will:

• Work with production teams to reduce waste (material and labour time usage).
• Drive improvements in production efficiency – planning, setup, machine operation, packing, and housekeeping.
• Strengthen quality control processes to meet product specifications and business requirements.
• Assist with stocktake, waste tracking, and quality audits to ensure targets are achieved.
• Analyse production data (output, waste, time) and develop solutions that deliver bottom-line savings.
• Promote and implement Lean, Kaizen, and 5S principles across work centres.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• A manufacturing background with 3+ years’ experience in production administration, scheduling, or supervisory roles. Experience in building materials or roll forming is highly regarded.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and an ability to problem-solve effectively.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills to influence and motivate teams.
• A proactive, disciplined, and improvement-focused mindset, with a passion for working as part of a successful team.
• Must be able to pass drug & alcohol test
