  • Classification: Health Professional Level 3 with a salary range of $114,272 - $129,941 per annum pro rata + Superannuation

About your new role

As the Clinical Psychologist, you will deliver high quality developmentally informed care and apply clinical expertise to the Youth Enhanced Service (YES), for young people aged 12-25. A key responsibility of this role is to provide comprehensive psychological assessments and formulations, in line with contractual requirements and best practice standards.

You will ensure that young people's needs are understood within the context of their development, risk, trauma, and strengths, and contribute to safe triage decisions, stepped care planning, and shared recovery goals.

This role reflects Neami's commitment to youth-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practice. As a registered Clinical Psychologist, you will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to clinical quality and service improvement activities. You will also contribute to discipline-specific expertise within the team, including reflective practice, brief interventions, sharing psychological insights, and capacity building, helping embed evidence-informed and psychologically sound approaches within a transdisciplinary setting.

What you will bring to the role

  • Formal tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy or related
  • Current full registration as a psychologist or Occupational Therapist with current annual practicing certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) essential, OR
  • Current full registration as a Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW
  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology and registration with AHPRA, with endorsement in Clinical Psychology.
  • Demonstrated experience in youth mental health service delivery, including intake, assessment, and brief intervention.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the developmental needs of young people aged 12-25, including their social, emotional, and cognitive development, and the importance of engagement strategies that are youth-centred and trauma-informed.
  • Experience collaborating with external stakeholders, such as headspace, CAMHS, primary care, education and AOD services.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with high-level written and computer literacy.
  • Compliance with WA workplace health and safety requirements, including vaccination requirements for workers in healthcare settings.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute positively to a values-driven organisational culture.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering evidence-informed therapeutic interventions (e.g. CBT, ACT, DBT, IPT) tailored to young people presenting with complex or co-occurring mental health challenges.
  • Experience conducting psychological formulations and contributing to multidisciplinary care planning.
  • Familiarity with youth mental health service systems in Western Australia, including referral pathways and stepped care approaches.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, LGBTIQA+ communities, or neurodivergent young people, with a demonstrated capacity to adapt clinical frameworks to these contexts.
  • Experience providing secondary consultation or clinical input to team members across a transdisciplinary setting.

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology and registration with AHPRA, with endorsement in Clinical Psychology
  • National Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
  • Current Working with Children Check - required before commencement of work
  • Current Australian drivers licence
  • Australian working rights
