About the role

Join the talented team at Alsop Fabrication Pty Ltd as a full-time CAD Designer in our Taren Point, NSW headquarters. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for utilising your expertise in industrial design and computer-aided design (CAD) to bring our clients' innovative ideas to life through high-quality product designs and workshop drawings.

What you'll be doing

Collaborate closely with the design and engineering teams to interpret client briefs and develop detailed CAD models and shop drawings, DXF files for laser cutting etc.

Produce accurate technical drawings, renderings and specifications to support the manufacturing process

Provide expertise and guidance to junior team members on CAD software and design best practices

Participate in project meetings to present design concepts and get feedback from architects / builders / clients

Ensure all design work meets relevant industry standards and safety regulations

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a CAD Designer or Product Designer, ideally within the manufacturing industry

Proficient in using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or AutoCAD

Strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing processes and materials

Excellent 3D visualisation and problem-solving skills

Ability to translate conceptual ideas into detailed, functional designs

Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
