The Opportunity:
As our Information Consultant, you will:
• Participate in the delivery of research information service functions and projects including inter-library loan, document delivery, cataloguing, purchasing, digitisation, collection and systems tasks.
• Develop and deliver tailored group and one-on-one training programs, both in person and via skype, sharing your up-to-date skills and knowledge of research databases, search methodologies, alerting tools, bibliometrics and library services.
• Support research staff with Endnote bibliographic management software; coordinate installation, updates, training, troubleshooting and marketing.
• Provide advanced, high-quality research, utilising your advanced search skills and ability to select, evaluate and package results professionally.
• Develop and contribute to marketing initiatives to promote the Research Information Service to clients and stakeholders.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of the Research Information Service eLibrary site, Alma/Primo system and departmental intranet presence to facilitate and promote access to resources and services.
• Function as a valuable team member in a small, multi-skilled team, working within an environment of continual improvement, by sharing information, models, practices and resources in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge of library and information services, information management, ICT systems, and digital technologies relevant to the provision of research and information services.
• Represent and promote the Department within professional library networks, groups and consortia to build connections, share knowledge and develop within a broader professional environment.
What we are looking for (qualifications, registrations, experience):
There are some qualifications that we see as essential. You must possess:
• A Degree in Library and Information Science from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent academic qualification, which provides eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
• Current “C” (car) class driver's license or equivalent is desirable.
