Our Western Junction depot currently has a position available for a reliable Freight Sorter / Driver. The position will be assisting with a variety of roles within the business. However the main role will be the sorting of the freight received into our depot, delivery of freight and some pickup work. This role does require manual handling so you must be capable of lifting at least 20kg's safely, so being physically fit and is essential.

This part time role is five days per week and initially commences as a casual grading, with the opportunity to progress to permanent once the probation period has been successfully completed.

This is a great opportunity to learn about the express freight industry in Tasmania.

Please note this role requires you hold a current MEDIUM RIGID truck licence. Please do not apply if you do not hold this licence. Whilst not essential, holding a current forklift licence would be advantageous.

The role includes but not limited to:

Delivery & Pickup Driver.

Sorting freight into the appropriate areas.

Some manual handling of freight

Use of scanners to the required standard

General warehouse & housekeeping duties

Cleaning of your assigned vehicle

Other duties as required by Operations/Manager

Requirements:

Medium Rigid Truck licence.

Forklift licence.

Physically fit as some heavy lifting is required.

Basic literacy skills.

Work well in a team environment.

Compliant with WHS & company policies.

Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical. Note, we may conduct random drug and alcohol testing.

Produce a current police check with a clean driving history.
