About Bialik

Bialik College is a pluralist Jewish school, embracing an inclusive approach to Judaism. All students attend one campus in Hawthorn, creating a close-knit community of students and learners from as young as three months old in our Children’s Centre, three years old in the Early Learning Centre through to Year 12 in the Senior School. Students come from throughout Melbourne, with many travelling to school on public transport or Bialik buses.

The Position

Reporting to the Head of Mathematics, the successful candidate will deliver mathematics curriculum of a high standard based on an understanding of varied teaching and learning approaches. This role is a full-time role, commencing in Term 1, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and deliver mathematics lessons for students across the Middle School.

Cater for individual learning needs within the classroom.

Work with the Mathematics department to develop and evaluate curriculum.

Providing mathematics support to individuals and small groups of students.

Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy.

Monitor, evaluate and report of student progress.

Create a culture of learning within the classroom.

Opportunity to take on a STEM Project Leadership responsibility.

Role Requirements

Solid experience in mathematics teaching across Middle year levels.

VIT registration is essential.

An understanding of the national curriculum and different teaching methodologies.

Excellent communication skills.
