Nightingale Nurses at Home is a community healthcare provider catering to the North Shore and Northern Beaches regions of Sydney. We believe that our clients' healthcare goals can be achieved with the help of highly skilled healthcare providers who will be appropriately deployed in client's homes and allocated roles specific to the clients' changing needs.

WHO WE NEED

We are looking for Home Care Nurse Assistants to join our team on a CASUAL basis. As this is home / community nursing, we require someone who can drive and have their own car fully insured. Shifts are a minimum of 2 hours per client. Normal working hours would be Monday to Friday between 8am to 6pm, but weekends and night shifts are also occasionally available. You will be paid per kilometre for travel in between clients.

For this role, we are very excited to have someone look after our elderly clients in the community setting who is compassionate, patient, and motivated in their job. Guided by our LAMP (Leadership, Advocacy, Mindfulness, and Professionalism) values, the appropriate candidate will also possess or is willing to learn the appropriate skills required to provide optimum home care for our elderly client, including but not limited to:

Personal care -showering, dressing, grooming, dental care, skin care

Meal assistance - meal preparation and assistance in intake if required

Mobility assistance -stand-by assist for safety

Light housekeeping - tidying, laundry, and bed making

Client transportation - appointments, shopping, or recreational

Palliative care

Companionship

Other tasks that fall within your scope of practice.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

To be considered for the position, you must have:

1. At least Certificate III in individual support (aged care). Medication support certification preferred.

2. A valid driver's licence and own car with full comprehensive insurance

3. A current (or willingness to acquire one prior to employment) certificate of:

National Police Check

Working with Children Check

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid Training

HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support Training

Manual Handling Training

4. Vaccination certificate of at least 3 doses for COVID-19 and Influenza

5. Have at least 3 months PAID experience working as:

Home Care / support worker

Assistant in Nursing (AIN)

Community Services worker

Currently studying Diploma or Bachelor in Nursing (had at least one placement completed)
