About Us:
Capecare is recognised as a leading provider of aged care and accommodation services for seniors across the Southwest region of Western Australia. Located in Busselton on the beautiful shores of Geographe Bay and a second location in the heart of Dunsborough, Capecare takes great pride in meeting the changing needs of today’s ageing community by delivering an outstanding model of care for clients and families choosing their services.
About the Role:
Capecare is on the lookout for a Podiatrist to deliver high-quality podiatry assessment, treatment, and preventative care to older adults in both residential aged care and community (Home Care Package) settings, supporting mobility, independence, and overall well-being. The role focuses on evidence-based practice, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Clinical Care
Conduct comprehensive podiatry assessments, including vascular, neurological, biomechanical, and dermatological evaluations.
Develop, implement, and review evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the client’s needs and goals.
Provide routine foot care, including nail care, callus/corn debridement, wound management, and footwear/orthotic advice.
Identify and manage high-risk foot conditions, including those related to diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, and neuropathy.
Monitor and document changes in foot health and functional status.
Liaise with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, and carers regarding treatment outcomes and recommendations.
Preventative Health & Education
Educate clients, families, and staff on foot health, footwear, skin integrity, and falls prevention.
Provide training to residential care staff and carers on basic foot care and early warning signs for referral.
Support the integration of podiatry services into broader wellness and reablement programs.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in accordance with organisational policy, My Aged Care requirements, and privacy legislation.
Comply with Aged Care Quality Standards, infection prevention protocols, and workplace health and safety guidelines.
Participate in clinical audits, risk management processes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
