About the Role

As a Registered Scrub Scout Nurse, you will play a key role in providing expert perioperative care to patients undergoing a wide range of elective orthopaedic procedures. You will work alongside a dedicated team of surgeons, anaesthetists, and fellow theatre staff, contributing to outstanding patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrub and scout for a variety of complex elective orthopaedic cases.
• Ensure safe and effective preparation and handling of instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support seamless surgical workflows.
• Maintain the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the theatre department.

Minimum Criteria:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

• Skilled in major joint arthroplasty, including hips, knees, and shoulders.
• Experience with Foot & Ankle, ACL reconstructions, fracture ORIFs, and arthroscopy.
• Robotic joint replacement experience (desirable), with systems such as Stryker Mako and Zimmer Rosa highly regarded.

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (or eligibility to obtain).
• Minimum of 3 years' recent orthopaedic scrub/scout experience, including:
• Strong knowledge of perioperative best practice and patient safety principles.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
