About this Role:

Semester One 2026

Teaching Years 5 – 8 Music

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging classroom Music lessons across Middle Years

Conduct and direct choral ensembles, fostering high standards across a range of music styles

Design innovative curriculum and incorporate music technology to enhance learning

Support student creativity in performance and composition

Collaborate with colleagues to develop programs that celebrate diversity and excellence in Music

Uphold MGGS’s commitment to child safety in all aspects of teaching and school life

About You:

Hold current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or can gain VIT registration. Early career teachers are encouraged to apply.

Demonstrated expertise in classroom Music education, with experience teaching Years 5–8

Strong choral conducting skills across a range of styles

Strong piano accompanying skills

Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students in performance and creative work

Skilled at using digital tools and music technologies to enrich learning

Collaborative, inclusive, and committed to developing meaningful musical experiences
