Asado is a gem of Melbourne's restaurant scene, and undoubtedly one of our city's finest Argentinian restaurants. Sitting at the foot of the Eureka Tower in Southbank, our prime location means that the city is on your doorstep when it’s time to treat yourself in town!
As a Casual Commis Chef at Asado, you’ll be part of a dynamic team, working in a fast-paced kitchen environment where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and learn new techniques.
Your day-to-day will involve:
Supporting the kitchen team with food preparation and production
Maintaining quality and consistency across all dishes
Following food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Assisting in keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and efficient
Learning and developing new culinary techniques and skills
Working effectively as part of a fast-paced team
Think you've got what it takes?
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Full working rights - Citizen or PR preferred, otherwise 2+ years left on temporary visa
- Availability for a minimum of 2 days per week
- At least 12 months of Cook or Commis Chef experience in a commercial kitchen
- Qualifications relevant to the role - i.e. Cert IV or III in Commercial Cookery
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Professional and appropriate interpersonal communication
- An unwavering passion for food
- The ability to work under pressure and keep up on a section

From midday to late at night we offer a shared menu bringing people together just like a family Asado in Argentina.
In our endeavour to capture the essence of Argentine culture and cuisine, we have imported a bespoke 2.5 metre parrilla charcoal grill, hand made by Pirincho, a lifelong master of the craft. He is regarded as one of the most important parrilla craftsman in the world. Pirincho’s previous customers include former Argentine presidents, the Ferrari workshop in Modena, and the VIP restaurant in the Barcelona FC Stadium.
