We are seeking a passionate Tuckerbag Coordinator.
Oonah has been running a Food Security Program (Tucker Bag) since 2015. This is a vital service to Community. The lesser health status of the Indigenous Community is well documented and nutrition is one of the underpinning factors. We recognise the importance of improving a person’s diet by supplying fresh food .Tucker Bag also enables Oonah to engage with Community, often becoming a first point of contact into other health and wellbeing services e.g. Alcohol and other Drug and Social and Emotional Wellbeing Support. As part of our Reconciliation model Tucker Bag is available to all members of the Community who are in need – no one is turned away.
Working collaboratively with internal teams and sector partners, you'll help reduce stigma, improve access to services, and support better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
What to expect:
You will lead the collection, coordination and distribution of food and food parcels from our Healesville location.
This role does require driving to Derrimut and Southbank in a van
Physical demands - This role does require safe lifting to load and unload food supplies of up to 15kg
Hours of Work – this is a 3 day a week position with a 7:30am start on Wednesdays
