The Opportunity

This opportunity is being offered initially as a 12-month non-ongoing contract where there is strong opportunity for permanent appointment down the track.

It is also an opportunity for strong APS6’s in the Australian Public Service who are seeking a permanent section 26 transfer.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Undertaking financial reporting and internal budgeting activities related to the department’s Capital Budget
• Providing cost model inputs and sound financial advice
• Reviewing Assets Under Construction (AUC) balances and maintaining asset data integrity
• Monitoring and tracking capital NPPs (New Policy Proposals) and coordinating information for the external budget Movement of Funds process
• Leading coordination of the Agency Budget Submission and contributing to improvements in external budget tasks
• Contributing to and supporting the implementation of enhanced financial policies and reporting capabilities

The Ideal Person

You will have a strong understanding of budgeting principles within the APS and be familiar with the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework.

You’re likely to come from one of the following backgrounds:

• Experience in a Big 4 or consulting firm working with federal government clients
• APS6-level experience in an internal or capital budgeting function, with stable tenure and a track record of success

Applicant MUST be Australian Citizens and have an existing baseline security clearance to be considered for this opportunity.

Salary / Rate

• $79k - $92k + 15.4% Super
• Centrally located Office
