Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse with an interest in supporting clients through their alcohol and other drug recovery journey? South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking applications from suitably qualified and passionate nurses to join our Residential Withdrawal and Support Service (WASS).
About the role
Our Residential Withdrawal and Support Service (WASS) is a designated 2-bed unit located within SWH's Rehabilitation Unit. The service provides intensive, short-term support for individuals undergoing alcohol and drug withdrawal in a safe, structured, and client-focused environment.
This role offers a 7-day rotating roster with no night duty, giving you the chance to enjoy a great work-life balance while still making a real difference in people's lives.
As a Registered Nurse within WASS, you will:
- Provide clinical expertise, advice, and support to clients undergoing withdrawal
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in a safe and supportive environment
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including allied health professionals and alcohol & drug treatment services
- Act as a resource person within the unit and for broader alcohol and drug support services
Position overview
- Position Type: Part-time (40 hours per fortnight), On-going position
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Registered Nurse Grade 2
- Salary Range: $81,364.40 - $100,146.80 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (or willingness to work towards)
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical care and act as a resource person for alcohol and other drug support services
- Compassion, empathy, and strong communication skills when working with clients experiencing withdrawal
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development
